Menangle Park to be region’s ‘most anticipated’ community

A Chinese-backed development company has unveiled its vision to deliver a 364ha masterplanned community at Menangle Park, transforming the area into a vibrant “Parkland Town”.

The Dahua Group Australia has promised the $1.5 billion project, bordering the Hume Motorway and Nepean River, will be a “destination of wellbeing”.

“Menangle Park will be one of southwest Sydney’s most anticipated residential communities,” Dahua Group Australia CEO Eric Li said.

“It will act as a destination location promising exceptional amenity and community assets from day one.”

The new development, just 10 minutes from the Campbelltown CBD and about 65km from Sydney, will feature a town centre, as well as education, health, sports and community
infrastructure. It also will include expansive parklands, playgrounds and pathways.

“Our team has taken into account the vision of the locals and has aimed to redefine the area while preserving its history and culture,” Mr Li said.

“The focus has been on creating an active, engaged, walkable neighbourhood as well as a community that provides its residents with a range of considered opportunities, including education, retail, hospitality, entertainment, commercial, employment, as well as community amenities.”

More than 950ha was rezoned in Menangle Park in November last year, to assist in supercharging housing supply in southwest Sydney.

Landcom managing director and chief executive officer John Brogden previously told the Macarthur Chronicle the rezoning will change the face of southwest Sydney.

“This is a gamechanger for southwest Sydney and Landcom is delighted to play its role in supporting the growth of the region by delivering a vibrant new community connected to the rest of the city,” he said.

A $116 million road connecting Menangle Park to the Hume Motorway will be completed by 2023, paving the way for a further release of 15,000 lots.

The Menangle Park 958ha rezoning will include 5.8ha of retail space and a 28ha industrial precinct, and is expected to provide 3000 new jobs.
